If you're looking for a unique and historical experience, check out Magnolia Grange House Museum! This museum is home to many fascinating artifacts and pieces of history. We'll give you a museum tour in this post, so be sure to read on! Information can be found here.
Magnolia Grange House Museum was built in 1819 by Colonel John Hart. It is a two-story, Federal-style house that was once used as a military headquarters and hospital during the Civil War. The museum now contains many artifacts from the Hart family and other local historical items. One of the most exciting aspects of the Magnolia Grange House Museum is its connection to President James Garfield. In 1880, Colonel Hart's daughter, Lucretia, married James Garfield. The couple lived in Magnolia Grange for a short time before moving to Washington D.C. when James Garfield became President. After his assassination in 1881, Lucretia returned to Magnolia Grange with her children and lived there until she died in 1918. The Magnolia Grange House Museum is open for tours from April through October. Visitors can tour the house and see the many artifacts on display. The museum also offers occasional special events, such as Civil War reenactments. If you're interested in learning more about American history, check out Magnolia Grange House Museum!
